proClaimer & Printers
Most HP parallel-based peripherals and non-HP parallel-based printers are supported. However, there are some types of printers that are not supported:
- Host-based (sometimes referred to as GDI printers). A printer that relies on the computer's processor to rasterize the print job. Most host-based printers use the GDI interface built into Windows (hence the "GDI printer" term), so there is no need to convert the data to PostScript(R), PCL, or other printer language.
- PPA (Printing Performance Architecture). Like host-based printing, this architecture relies on the computer's processor. The software driver handles all formatting, such as color matching and correction, half-toning, edge enhancement, tone correction, and ink management.
Such printers include:
- HP Deskjet 710c, HP Deskjet 712c
- HP Deskjet 720c, HP Deskjet 722c
- HP Deskjet 820cxi or 820cse printer,
- HP Deskjet 1000c, HP Deskjet 1000cxi, HP Deskjet 1000cse
- HP Photosmart Photo Printer
- HP LaserJet 3100 product
